Our Approach to Sustainability: Materials, Partnerships and Making Things Last

Sustainability is a word the activewear industry has worn thin. It gets printed on hangtags and hero banners with very little behind it, and shoppers have learned, rightly, to be sceptical. So rather than call ourselves green, we would rather tell you exactly what we do, in specifics you can check, and be equally clear about what we have not solved yet.

This is that account: the materials we use, the two organisations we work with, and the single most underrated part of sustainable clothing, which is simply making things that last long enough not to be replaced.

Our Approach, In Plain Terms

We are a small brand, and we are not going to pretend our footprint is zero, because no clothing brand’s is. What we can do is make deliberate choices at the points where they matter most: what our garments are made from, how long they last, and taking responsibility beyond our own supply chain for some of the impact we do create. The sections below break down each of those, with the concrete detail rather than the slogan.

Recycled Materials

[ Exempelstruktur nar du har siffrorna: "Our Flared Leggings are made from XX% recycled polyamide, and our Pulse Shorts from XX% recycled material. That means..." Konkret, verifierbart, per plagg. ]

Our Partnership with CleanHub

[ FAKTA BEHOVS: vad innebar CleanHub-partnerskapet KONKRET? T.ex. "for every order, we fund the collection of X kg of plastic waste" eller "we fund the recovery of X kg per month". ]

Our Partnership with Switch2Zero

[ FAKTA BEHOVS: vad gor Switch2Zero-partnerskapet KONKRET?

Beskriv i stallet exakt vad ni finansierar: "we fund X", inte "we are neutral". ]

The Most Underrated Part: Making Things Last

The most sustainable garment is the one you do not have to replace. Fast fashion’s real cost is the cycle of buying, wearing out and rebuying, and the most effective thing any activewear brand can do is simply make pieces that survive years of training rather than a single season.

That is a design decision as much as an ethical one. Dense, high-recovery fabric, reinforced seams and waistbands that keep their shape are what keep a garment in your wardrobe and out of landfill, and they are the same qualities that make a piece genuinely worth its price. We go into the detail of this in our guide on what leggings really cost, and washing your kit correctly extends its life significantly, which our care guide walks through. Buying better and buying less is, quietly, one of the most sustainable things any of us can do.

What We Are Still Working On

Being honest about sustainability means being honest about the gaps. ]

We would rather tell you what we are working towards than claim we have arrived. As we grow, so does what we are able to do, and we will keep this page updated as that changes.

Built to Last

Everything we make is designed to stay with you: dense, high-recovery fabric that holds its shape and its opacity wear after wear, so you replace less and keep more. Start with the Pulse Leggings.

Life is full of small discomforts. Your activewear shouldn’t be one of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Gymathlete a sustainable brand?

[ FAKTA: svara arligt och specifikt. T.ex. "We use recycled materials in X, fund plastic recovery through CleanHub, and design for longevity. We are not carbon neutral and do not claim to be." Undvik ett rakt "ja" utan underlag. ]

What materials are Gymathlete products made from?

[ FAKTA: ange faktiska material och andel atervunnet per relevant plagg. ]

What is CleanHub?

CleanHub is an organisation that funds the collection of plastic waste in regions that lack functioning waste management, keeping it from reaching the ocean. [ FAKTA: lagg till exakt vad er partnerskap finansierar. ]

How does buying better help the environment?

Well-made garments last far longer, which reduces how often they are replaced and how much ends up in landfill. Choosing fewer, higher-quality pieces and caring for them properly is one of the most effective everyday ways to lower the impact of your wardrobe.
